Open Climbs

Open Climbs are an opportunity for folks to casually drop in and try out tree climbing for the first (or second, or 100th) time. The rope systems are already set up in the trees for you, and a facilitator will walk you through safely ascending into the canopy, then descending back to the ground when you are ready. We guide a maximum of three climbers at a time, so we also include take-home field journals and access to our “tree library” for exploration as participants rotate through.

No Experience Required

People ages 5+ are welcome to climb; minors must be accompanied by an adult. Climbing saddles fit waist sizes 20″-45″.

Pay What You Can

Open Climbs are pay what you can. We invite you to pay within your means and otherwise trust you to decide what a climb feels “worth” to you. We suggest $20 if you’re looking for a number. No one will be turned away due to lack of funds.

Drop in or save your spot

We guide 3 climbers at a time and generally max. at 12 climbs in a 3-hour window. This means that you might show up and need to wait for the next open climbing saddle. You can drop in anytime between 12-3pm, put your name in the rotation, and hang out at the park if there is a wait, or you can “save a spot” in the rotation by signing up ahead of time. Signing up in advance does not include more climb time than drop-in climbers - it guarantees that you have saved a spot in the climb rotation for the day you select.
